Richard Burt (left) teamed up with Cllr John Trethewy to prepare for the Mountain Challenge
West Worcestershire Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt, teamed up with Malvern Hills District Councillor, John Trethewy to walk the Malvern Hills last weekend in preparation for a sponsored mountain challenge.
Richard will join a team of walkers from Severn Trent to compete in their 2006 Mountain Challenge, raising funds for 'WaterAid'.
The team will compete on the 23 mile 'A' route in the Dark Peak, Derbyshire on 15th July.
The rugged Severn Trent Mountain Challenge is one of an annual series of fundraising events organised by Severn Trent, who donate annually around £55,000 to WaterAid projects.
Ex-fell runner, Richard is looking for sponsors for the challenge.
"£15 will provide a person with safe water, adequate sanitation and knowledge of good hygiene practices for life, so any contribution makes a huge and lasting difference. Readers can email pledges to me at burtr@parliament.uk" said Richard.
