Malvern Hills District Council Leader, Di Rayner, pitched in to help council staff serving coffee and cakes to members of the public in Malvern Library last Friday morning [29 September]. The event was staged as part of the 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and raised £150 for the cancer care charity.

West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt, joined other customers and praised council staff who organised the morning.

Richard Burt said: "This event was just one of many taking place across the county and helps fund the fantastic work undertaken by Macmillan to improve the lives of cancer sufferers each year. One in three of us will get cancer and it is good to know there is such an effective organisation out there providing the extra listening service, care and support that suffers and their loved ones need."
