Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, Vince Cable MP will talk to Worcestershire business bosses during his visit to the county this Saturday.
A former Chief Economist for Shell and his party's Deputy Leader, Mr Cable has won many plaudits for his sure-footed commentary on the economic crisis.
In a meeting in Malvern organised by local parliamentary candidate Richard Burt, he will discuss the withdrawal of credit from small businesses during the current financial crisis.
"Banks have withdrawn lines of credit precisely at a time when they need support the most," said Richard. "It is vital that local businesses are not pushed to the wall because credit lines have dried up or because banks are charging exorbitant rates of interest.
"After all, billions of taxpayers' money has been spent to bail out high street banks, so they in turn must support small business, which is the lifeblood of the economy".
Mr Cable will then attend a reception at Malvern Theatres with his wife Rachel before speaking as guest of honour at the local party's annual dinner to be held in the town.
