Richard Burt recycles his cards with the help of W H Smith store manager Mickie Wallace.

Local Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt joined W H Smith's Malvern Store Manager, Mickie Wallace last Saturday to promote their Woodland Trust Christmas card recycling scheme, running from 2nd to 31st January.

Participating branches of W H Smith, Tesco, TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer will display recycling bins across Worcestershire as part of the national scheme.

Mickie said Mr Burt was one of the first to recycle his Christmas cards at the store on Belle Vue Terrace, and encouraged others to do the same.

Richard said: "You can take your cards to recycling bins in participating stores across the county. The Woodland Trust will then recycle them and plant thousands of young trees to create five new native woodland sites within just twelve years. This is a great way to recycle your greetings cards and get more trees planted."
