Local Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt and newly elected Malvern Trinity County Councillor, Beverley Nielsen both completed the 'Can you Hack it?' 25 mile sponsored challenge for NSPCC last Saturday.

The Midlands event was supported by nearly 300 walkers and raised £50,000 for the children's charity and Childline.

Starting at 6am in Welland, walkers completed a tough circular course, traversing the length of the Malvern Hills en route, and finishing back at Welland in time for a pig roast in the evening.

"It was tremendous to get up on the hills on such a beautiful day. People came from as far as London to take part, and were rewarded with some incredible views and some very tough walking!"

"Twenty five miles is a long way, but it was definitely worth it."
