Richard Burt and Link County Councillor Clive Smith with angry residents outside Suckley Post Office who can no longer pay their Council Tax over the counter.
Richard Burt has asked South Worcestershire Councils to think again after stopping over the counter Council Tax payments at rural post offices to save money.
Richard and County Councillor, Clive Smith met customers outside Suckley Post Office angry over the cost and inconvenience caused by the cut.
Richard said: "Since over the counter payments at post offices were stopped on 1st September, customers who like to pay cash are forced to travel to a central pay point.
"For customers at Suckley Post Office this means a 24 mile round trip to Malvern, parking charges and queuing to pay.
"Suckley resident, Mr Lock told me that it cost him £6 in petrol and parking and over an hour of his time to make the payment in Malvern, instead of a five minute walk to his local post office.
"I know that councils are always looking for ways to cut costs, but this really makes no sense at all in rural areas.
"The amount of money saved would be the tiniest fraction of a penny on Council Tax, so why punish these people?"
