Councillor Beverley Nielsen and Richard Burt welcome John Buckley to the Party.
Labour's former County Council Group Leader, John Buckley has today joined the Liberal Democrats.
Mr Buckley, who held Labour's top council position in Worcestershire, was welcomed into the Party by West Worcestershire Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt and County Councillor Beverley Nielsen.
Beverley joined the Liberal Democrats from the Conservatives earlier this year before winning her County Council seat.
Richard said "We are delighted to welcome John into the Party. He has an outstanding record on Worcestershire County Council and will be a great addition to our campaign team."
Lib Dem County Council Group Leader, Councillor Liz Tucker said "John Buckley has tremendous energy and drive. He always shows determination to get to the root of problems and make sure things happen for people."
Mr Buckley, who resigned after 40 years in the Labour Party, said the Liberal Democrats were "Ambitious, straight talking and different. If we let the old parties carry on in charge, they'll just make the same mistakes. It's time to do things differently, and the Liberal Democrats are the only party able to do that."
