Richard Burt Launches Environmental Challenge For West Worcestershire

West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt, has launched a web campaign to help improve the environment locally following the World Wildlife Fund's shock report saying people in Malvern Hills are using more natural resources per head than anyone else in the West Midlands.
Richard Burt said:
"Climate change is the greatest challenge of our times, and this shock report is a wake up call for all of us. Many people in Worcestershire have already made great efforts to change their lifestyles to become greener, but it is sobering to realise how much further we have to go.
"I am inviting people to visit my own website on www.richardburt.org From there people can sign up to the Environment Agency's ten point pledge to save resources by taking simple steps in and around the home.
"As the Environment Agency themselves state: "You can make a small promise like turning off the tap when you brush your teeth or using a 'bag for life', or you can offset your carbon emissions when you take a flight.
"I'm also inviting residents to email good ideas to save energy and resources so that they can be shared locally, and people can sign up to get enews on the environment from the Liberal Democrats."
Malvern Hills District Council is also taking a lead through its Vision 21 Partnership, making climate change one of its top three priorities. The Council will be hosting it's own Homes4now exhibition in October to promote energy saving and conservation ideas for the home.
