Lib Dem Candidate Visits QinetiQ In Malvern

West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt, paid a recent visit to the Malvern home of QinetiQ, the defence and security technologies company, to see the work of the town's biggest employer.

Richard received a presentation from Managing Director, Andrew Sleigh, and was given a tour of QinetiQ including demonstrations of some of their latest technologies in the defence, security and the commercial sector.

"Defence research has been at the heart of employment in Malvern over the past fifty years, and QinetiQ maintains its position at the cutting edge of defence and security technologies in a fast changing world' said Richard after his visit.

"Over 2000 scientists and engineers are employed locally, and the continued success of the company is vital to the local economy.

"I was delighted to be able to set up contact between QinetiQ and our shadow defence team in Westminster, and hope that these talks will lead to regular briefings and contact over future developments in the global defence and security market."
