Lib Dems Launch Malvern Hills District Council Elections Manifesto8.58.53pm GMT Tue 20th Feb 2007 The Liberal Democrats have launched their manifesto for the Malvern Hills District Council elections, to be held on 3rd May. The Group's 2007 manifesto was approved by councillors and candidates at a meeting in Malvern last Saturday, and will form the basis for the Party's bid to win a second successive term in administration following their defeat of the Conservatives at the last district elections. Council Leader, Councillor Di Rayner said: "Since taking control of the council in 2003 from a failing Tory administration, we have steadily improved performance and are now in the top quartile of councils nationally according to government ratings. "At the same time, rises in the District Council share of Council Tax have been kept low, under 3% this year and the same for next year, delivering value for money and good quality services." "We will build on this success by offering policies to make the district cleaner, greener and safer over the next four years." Note: You can download the manifesto from the Download area of the website (see the menu on the left).
