Thank You For Your "Community First Responder" Donations

8.55.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 27th Apr 2009

Local Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt today offered his thanks for the generous support of residents who supported his appeal for funds to buy equipment for new Community First Responders in the district.

Mr Burt, who recently qualified as a Community First Responder with the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said he was 'delighted' with the £674 donated towards the charity's funds.

"Most of the First Responders I trained with have also been doing their own fundraising independently, so I'm sure there will be new kits available to help get us responding.

"It's a big challenge, but I am looking forward to making a start as soon as possible," said Mr Burt.
