Tenbury Biomass Project Looks Doomed

7.34.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 14th Jul 2009

Tenbury's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt today welcomed the news that Advantage West Midlands is dropping plans to fund Tenbury's biomass project.

Commenting, Richard Burt said: "This was always an ill-conceived project and should never have been promoted by the County Council in the first place. It is now effectively dead in the water.

"Lorries would have been travelling day and night with fuel to Tenbury to feed the beast. It was the wrong scale in the wrong place.

"Efforts now need to be concentrated on developing the Park to provide real business and real jobs. The site has been left dormant far too long."
