There are 2.7 million workers across England who already have the skills we need to reach Net Zero. In Worcestershire there are 30,265 workers who already have the skills we need to reach Net Zero.
Voters should expect their candidates in the upcoming local elections to commit, if elected, to prioritising a green recovery and ensuring high demand for these jobs in your area. As Liberal Democrats all of our candidates pledge to prioritise a green recovery.
Worcestershire County Council, Wychavon District Council and Malvern District Council have not yet signed UK100's Net Zero pledge to go further and faster than the UK government in reaching Net Zero. If elected to County council all of our candidates will make this a priority and do all they can to get us to Carbon Zero as quickly as possible.
You can read all about this pledge here.
