County Council Elections: Vote for Jed Marson in Hallow May 6th

JED MARSON - HALLOW

Jed has lived in Sinton Green, Shoulton and Hallow for nearly 40 years, the only candidate to live in Hallow County Division! He and his wife brought 3 daughters through primary at Grimley, then Chantry. He and his eldest daughter still care for her now elderly ponies.

Accountancy led to IT. He ran his own businesses bringing emerging technologies to market in IT, telecoms, then home-working, influencing fast broadband across Worcestershire. Passionately committed to transitioning the economy to sustainability for his children and future generations, Jed identifies emerging technologies to transition to zero carbon realistically. He works actively locally as an approved Green LibDem candidate and nationally as a member of the Green LibDem Executive (www.GreenLibDems.org.uk.)

Jed's plans would see County eliminate emissions from school buildings and vehicles; a focus on waste, where Worcestershire achieves only two thirds the recycling rate of the 5 leading UK Councils (4 LibDem led); working with developers and construction materials manufacturers to deliver better housing in types and numbers really needed by communities (not commuter, dormitory estates dictated by national housebuilders).

He expects new autonomous electric and hydrogen vehicles, many already coming down in price and available today, others seen in concept, to provide personalised private and public transport in cities and towns, reaching rural communities as LibDem County Councils replace Tory platitudes, with suitable good quality local roads everywhere. That will eliminate personal CO2 from new transport within a decade and almost altogether as older vehicles reach the end of their lives. He proposes dedicated cycling and walking routes for fitness and Zero Carbon in every aspect of County life.

Jed says: "This will all mean better than mere survival: it will improve our health and wellbeing. We're more conscious of work-life balance post pandemic. Let's grab lessons learnt. As we emerge from the Covid death toll of 127,000 and counting, let's not forget mistakes made by a hapless Tory government, again too late closing the door to India, potentially letting in another variant. We can still see off the pandemic with a Zero Covid approach and a much more robust local lead from County."
