Scrap the Family Farm Tax

Stop the family farm tax

The Government must scrap the disastrous Family Farm Tax immediately or risk ringing the death knell for family farms in West Worcestershire.

Worcestershire farmers, having spent years being forced to endure botched trade deals and cuts to their incomes due to shameful policies from the previous Government, need support – not more policies that cause harm.

If the UK is serious about food production and food security, we cannot pursue anti-farming policies. Liberal Democrats are arguing that we need to support the agricultural sector and back British farmers.

The Chancellor should urgently reverse course, scrap the Family Farm Tax and take up the Liberal Democrat proposals to give farmers an additional £1 billion a year in support.

If you are a farmer or simply someone who supports the agricultural sector, please sign our petition, which will be taken to the government and Chancellor to show the depth of public opposition in rural areas to this policy.

"We oppose Labour's changes to farmers' inheritance tax which will impact around 70,000 farms."
